Sunday School

Christian education is a critical facet of our Sunday morning together! Kicked off each year with Rally Day, Sunday School is held at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. We offer a variety of classes for ages 4 through 12th Grade. Our curriculum each Sunday matches what is taught in worship that day.

Sunday School Schedule

Sunday School classes meet in the fall, winter and spring.

Preschool

Our 3-5 year old children are welcome to begin a more formal classroom education in Sunday School each week. Lessons are taken from the Spark Curriculum and include a bible story, craft, and snacks.

Kindergarten - 1st Grade

Children in this age group continue learning about the bible with the Spark Curriculum on Sunday mornings.  This age group is also welcomed to Youth Nights where there is a year long focus on a specific topic along with games and dinner provided.

2nd - 4th Grade

This age group keeps learning through Sunday School and Youth Nights. Lessons continue to come from our Spark curriculum but are elevated to match their age and interests.

5th - 7th Grade

As our children grown and become more independent in their faith, we invite them to join confirmation classes to learn about becoming a member of the church community through the affirmation of their Baptism at the end of their 7th grade year. Confirmation classes are held at 10am Sunday mornings. These grades also participate in Youth Nights on Thursdays and attend a confirmation retreat at Hope Wood Outdoors.

8th - 12th Grade

Our oldest youth expand their understanding of what it means to be a member of Bethel and the ELCA through continued lessons, discussions and participation in Sunday School and Youth Nights. They participate in volunteer work within the community, assist with worship duties and become role models for our younger children as they assist with Vacation Bible School and attend annual mission trips that are supported by our generous congregation.
